Staff Devotions

During may's staff meetings I have been asked to lead in a brief devotional before we pray. I thought it woudl be good to go through a small book and Colossians is where we are at. So I started with chapter 1 Here are some thoughts that I had. 1. Thanking God for His People (vv3-5) -Paul often starts letters like this expressing his love, concern or appreciation for the people ing Christ's Church -Those people have a purpose and Paul is Glad that the people in Colosse have held on to it. - I think as church leaders we constantly have to remind people and our selves that we are working with God's people. We should be thankful for everymoment that we have to serve them, even the people who give us headaches. 2. The Stength of the Gospel (vv. 5-8) -The Gospel never loses it's power in our lives. More likely we fail to pay attention. - Creekside 24 reminded people about the power of God's word. - How powerful is the Word in our lives today? - How can we keep our people aware of the power of God's word? - How can we stay hungry for God's Word? 3. Pray for Strength (vv. 9-12) - God's Glory Strength, not the grin and bear it strength, but the strength that give glory back to God. - learn how God Works to learn how to do our work.
